Throughout the academic year, the Documentation and Libraries Service promote presentations and orientation sessions about the UMinho libraries, services, bibliographic and information resources available on the UMinho network and in open access, addressed to the 1st year students (1st and 2nd cycle degrees), open to the whole community or for groups by request.
Training for 1st year students (1st and 2nd cycles)
At the beginning of each academic year, the Documentation and Libraries Service promote the presentation of the UMinho libraries to students in the first year of the first and second cycle degrees, in order to provide basic information on the general operation of the library services and bibliographic ressources available, making students autonomous in the location of the relevant information for the accomplishment of their academic works. These sessions are organized through the Directors of the Courses and should be scheduled in a timely manner.
At the beginning of each semester, the Documentation and Libraries Service promotes also participate in the reception activities of the Erasmus students, organized by the International Relations Services.
Training programs open to the UMinho community
The Documentation and Libraries Service promote during the school year several training sessions, which are referenced in the training Schedule. Most of the sessions are conducted in Portuguese, but some are in English.
In addition to the planned training offer, the Documentation and Libraries Service are available to carry out other training actions, at the most convenient times and places, upon prior request.

The Documentation and Libraries Service is available to welcome group visits to UMinho libraries run by USDB.
The realization of the visit requires prior appointment. To request the visit, contact us through the email address firstname.lastname@example.org, indicating the name of the organizer and institution, the expected number of visitors, the purpose of the visit, the intended day/time.
