Studio

The multimedia area offers a small studio of 11 m2 for video recording. This space may also be required for photographic works, in which case the user must bring his machine.
This service is located in the Library of the University of Minho in the Campus of Azurém, on the 6th floor (Multimedia area > Studio).

Equipments:

• Professional video camera Full HD (Sony PXW-X70), with accessories (tripod, shotgun microphone);
• Bi-Color LED lighting Kit and light diffusers;
• Backgrounds in green (for chroma key), sky blue, arctic white and black.

Service operation:

• This service is exclusively for users of the University of Minho's libraries and is intended for academic or research purposes.
• This service is available from Monday to Friday, from 9h00 to 12h00 and from 14h00 to 17h00, subject to prior reservation.

Reservation and requisition conditions:

• The reservation of the studio and accessories (equipments) must be requested in advance at https://reservas.sdum.uminho.pt/. The room has a maximum capacity of 4 people.
• Reservations are made for periods of 3 consecutive hours (between 9h00 and 12h00 or between 14h00 and 17h00).
• The user will receive a booking confirmation email.
• To use the studio, the user needs to check in at the scheduled date and time (or within 15 minutes) at https://reservas.sdum.uminho.pt/ and pick up the studio door key at the reception desk (2nd floor), upon identification.
• The beginning of the work is assisted by the library technical assistant, who will provide support in the use of the equipment and to whom the end of the use must be communicate.
• At the end of the reservation, the user must return the key at the service desk.
 

Price:

The use of the studio and the equipment is free, except the use of screens to cover the floor, which has a cost of € 10.00 per meter. The library provides free tabs of all colored screens for that purpose.


The use of this service implies acceptance of the following rules:

• The requisition implies the responsibility of the requester reagarding the good treatment and conservation of the installations and equipment and for eventual damages or losses, during the period of the requisition.
• The library is not responsible for any loss of data. It is the responsibility of the user to regularly save session files to external memory or to another device.
• The user may bring other required equipment or consumables (external CD / DVD player, memory card, etc.).
• Periodically, files that do not match the original equipment configuration will be deleted.
• The multimedia area is subject to the general Library Regulations of the University of Minho.
• Upon authorization of the author, the library can disseminate multimedia works as examples of use of the service.
